Artificial Intelligence.
It's super trendy right now and it seems like everyone is using it to create content.
Including me.
In fact, I prompted the AI features of this blog post to create the image you see to the left.
As I write this there are two little stars indicative of the AI tools helping me compose this blog article.
Weird hey?
Isn't that strange? Cool? Interesting?
Love it or hate it, we are officially in the era of AI - resistance is futile, my friend!
The best thing you can do is accept the reality of it and use it in ethical ways that help grow you and your business.
But let's ponder these 3 MISTAKES TO AVOID when it comes to integrating AI & Social Media.
Over-Using Automation With AI:
In my opinion, using AI for the menial tasks like scheduling, optimizing cool content & idea generation/research is awesome. Big time saver.
HOWEVER, you can quickly lose authenticity and engagement (cuz social media is meant to be social OK!) if you over-use AI.
I can tell immediately when someone is using AI to create content. AI has next to NO humour and reads like an old-school encyclopedia.
Quite dry and emotionless. Don't do this.
According to Neil Patel 94.12% of the time human written content outranks AI spewing (AI just skims the web, so uhhh it's not creating any new ideas).
Plus, AI cannot response to your comment, engage with your community or show behind the scenes content. This has to be human driven. Humans appreciate this.
Ignoring Data Privacy & Security:
Data breaches and privacy concern are FOR REAL.
Small businesses MUST prioritize the protection of customer data when using AI for social media marketing.
You have a responsibility to safeguard personal information, otherwise a data breach can seriously compromise your reputation.
Be open about how you are collecting data from your customers and be honest about when you are using AI.
Ignoring Human Oversight & Accountability:
AI algorithms are awesome for analyzing a ton of data and making predictions based on that data. HOWEVER, they make mistakes.
Relying ONLY on AI without human oversight is not a risk you want to take. Algorithms can be biased and make erroneous assumptions.
I think in the future there will be a lot of "AI Trainers".
These trained specialists will monitor AI content, review analytics and ensure marketing strategies are aligned with your business goals and objectives.
In conclusion I don't see AI replacing humans on a giant scale - like any new technology, it may eliminate the need for boring, repetitive tasks but it will also create jobs and positions that did not exist before, I don't think it will ever replace the essence of human creativity, love and spirit.
